Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a Remote Physician Pro Fee Coding Specialist-Anesthesia to review and assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes for professional services documented in medical records. You will ensure proper sequencing, modifiers, and place-of-service coding in line with regulations and payer policies.

Key duties include coding audits, collaboration with physicians and revenue-cycle teams, and ensuring timely claim resolution while protecting patient confidentiality under HIPAA.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS for professional fee services.
• Understanding of modifier usage and place-of-service coding.
• Experience with EHR, coding software, and claim processing systems.
• Ability to identify documentation deficiencies and escalate for education.
• Familiarity with NCCI edits, LCD/NCD guidelines, and medical necessity.

Responsibilities

• Assigns CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes based on documentation.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and payer policies.
• Performs coding audits and quality reviews.
• Works on claim edits and scrubs in billing system.
• Collaborates with physicians and revenue cycle teams.
• Performs edit checks before transmittal; corrects errors.
• Maintains HIPAA confidentiality and compliance.
• Escalates issues to coding education team as needed.
• Assists in coding-related special projects and reporting.
• Maintains regular attendance and compliance with policies.
