Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Remote Physician Pro Fee Coding Specialist for Hospital Medicine NICU/ICU. You will review records and assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes for professional services, ensuring accurate sequencing and modifier use.

You will work with physicians and revenue cycle teams to identify documentation gaps, ensure coding integrity, and support compliant reimbursement in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of physician coding or professional fee coding experience.
• Experience with multiple specialties, surgical coding, or high-volume coding preferred.
• H.S. Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assigns accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes for professional services based on provider documentation.
• Ensures compliance with regulations, payer policies, and coding protocols including NCCI, LCDs and NCDs.
• Performs coding audits and quality reviews to identify documentation gaps.
• Works claim edits and scrubs in the billing system to support timely reimbursement.
• Collaborates with physicians and revenue cycle teams to improve documentation and compliance.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records and adheres to HIPAA.
