Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Remote Physician Pro Fee Coder-Cardiology to review and assign CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 codes for professional services. You will ensure proper sequencing, modifiers, and place-of-service coding in line with government regulations and payer policies, while identifying documentation gaps for reimbursement improvements. Collaboration with physicians and revenue cycle teams is essential for coding integrity and education.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED minimum.
• 2–4 years of physician coding experience required.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding systems.
• Experience with multiple specialties and high-volume professional coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assigns accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes for professional services.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and payer policies (NCCI, LCDs, NCDs).
• Performs coding audits and quality reviews for accuracy.
• Works coding-related claim edits, holds, and scrubs in billing systems.
• Collaborates with physicians and revenue cycle teams for education and compliance.
• Performs edit checks on coded data prior to transmittal.
