Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Remote Medical Coder to review and code professional fee encounters using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS, ensuring accurate, compliant reimbursement. You will assign E/M levels, diagnoses, and procedures while abstracting key data for billing and regulatory reporting.

Applicants should have 3+ years of Pro-Fee coding, current AAPC/AHIMA certification, and Cerner EMR experience. Remote work, strong communication, and a track record of productivity and quality are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Pro-Fee coding experience.
• Active coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA.
• Experience coding clinic visits/professional services.
• Strong E/M, diagnosis, injections, and procedure coding experience.
• ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers and coding guidelines knowledge.
• Cerner EMR experience.
• Remote work experience.
• Proficiency in Outlook, Excel and Teams.
• ED coding experience.
• Multi-specialty Pro-Fee coding background.
• Regulatory reporting and data abstraction.
• Hospital or health system coding experience.
• AR/billing collaboration on claim resolution.
• History of exceeding productivity and quality metrics.
• Mentoring/training coders.
• Additional AAPC/AHIMA certifications beyond minimum.

Responsibilities

• Review and code professional fee encounters using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.
• Assign accurate E/M levels, diagnoses, and procedures for reimbursement.
• Abstract key patient/encounter data for billing, regulatory and reporting.
• Audit medical records to ensure documentation supports services billed.
• Communicate with physicians for coding clarifications.
• Review and resolve coding-related claim edits and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with AR/billing teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and productivity.
• Work within EMR, hospital systems and encoder software remotely.
• Stay current on coding regulations and payer requirements.
