Job summary

BairesDev is seeking an Android Platform Engineer to work on low-level Android development, focusing on AOSP, HAL, and system services. You will bridge software with hardware, enabling high-performance customization for embedded systems.

You will design framework components, implement HALs, and work with AOSP to build ROMs, drivers, and kernel-adjacent features. Strong English and 4+ years in the field are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in Android Platform Engineering or Embedded Systems.
• Proven expertise in AOSP development, including system services and HAL.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, and C++ for low-level Android development.
• Hands-on experience with device drivers and kernel components.
• Strong background in building and customizing Android ROMs.
• Excellent English skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Android framework components and system services to enhance OS functionality.
• Implement and customize HALs to enable software-hardware communication.
• Work with AOSP to build and modify custom ROMs and system-level apps.
• Develop and optimize low-level drivers and kernel-adjacent components for embedded systems.
• Troubleshoot complex system-level issues including memory, boot times, and hardware compatibility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate device-specific features while maintaining stability and security.
