Logitech is seeking an experienced Android Systems Engineer to architect and deliver Android-based appliance platforms with a focus on reliability, security, and hardware/software integration. You will work across kernel, drivers, HAL, and framework services to ensure production-ready software for purpose-built devices.
The role requires deep knowledge in Android subsystems such as Camera, Display, and Audio, and the ability to drive cross-functional efforts from hardware bring-up to Android
Logitech is the Sweet Spot for people who want their actions to have a positive global impact while having the flexibility to do it in their own way.
We are looking for a highly experienced Android Systems Engineer with deep expertise in building Android-based appliance products . This role is focused on the development, integration, optimization, and delivery of purpose-built Android devices where reliability, performance, security, and hardware/software integration are critical.
The ideal candidate has strong hands‑on experience across the Android software stack, including Linux kernel development, device drivers, Android HAL, Android framework services, and system‑level debugging . The candidate should also have deep domain knowledge in at least one major Android subsystem such as the Camera Framework, Display Framework, or Audio Framework , with the ability to work across multiple subsystems as needed.
This role is well suited for an engineer who can operate from low‑level hardware bring‑up through Android framework integration and production software delivery.
The successful candidate will be someone who can move comfortably between architecture and hands‑on debugging. They should be able to understand a product requirement, trace it through the Android framework, HAL, kernel, driver, and hardware layers, and identify the right solution.
This person should bring strong engineering judgment, deep Android system knowledge, and the ability to deliver reliable appliance software in a complex hardware/software environment. They should be comfortable working directly with internal teams, external technology partners, and executive stakeholders when needed.
In this role, you will help
Architect, develop, and deliver Android-based appliance platforms for advanced video collaboration and embedded systems products.
You will work closely with hardware, firmware, platform software, application, QA, manufacturing, and partner engineering teams to ensure the complete system works reliably from bootloader and kernel through Android services and user‑facing functionality.
You will be expected to solve complex system integration issues, guide technical decisions, review platform architecture, and contribute directly to high‑quality production software.
Develop and integrate Android-based software platforms for purpose‑built appliance devices.
Customize and optimize Android system behavior for dedicated appliance use cases, including kiosk‑style operation, controlled user experience, device management, security, and reliability.
Work across Android framework, native services, HAL layers, kernel, and device‑specific software components.
Support Android platform bring‑up on new SoC platforms and hardware designs.
Integrate BSP releases from SoC vendors, ODMs, JDMs, and technology partners.
Drive platform stability, boot performance, recovery behavior, update mechanisms, and production readiness.
Develop, debug, and maintain Linux kernel components for Android-based products.
Work on device drivers for camera, audio, display, touch, USB, I2C, SPI, GPIO, Ethernet, power management, and other hardware interfaces.
Debug low‑level system issues involving interrupts, memory, DMA, device tree, clocks, power rails, and peripheral initialization.
Analyze kernel logs, tombstones, traces, crash dumps, and other diagnostic data to isolate complex system failures.
Collaborate with hardware engineers to validate board‑level behavior and resolve hardware/software integration issues.
Optimize kernel and driver performance for system latency, throughput, power, and reliability.
Provide deep technical leadership in one or more Android multimedia subsystems, including:
Camera HAL, camera provider, camera service, capture pipeline, sensor integration, ISP interaction, metadata, stream configuration, multi‑camera use cases, image quality tuning support, and camera performance optimization.
SurfaceFlinger, Hardware Composer, display HAL, graphics buffers, composition, HDMI/display output, resolution handling, refresh behavior, EDID handling, and display performance.
Audio HAL, AudioFlinger, audio policy, routing, capture/playback paths, microphone arrays, speakers, echo cancellation integration, latency optimization, and audio device bring‑up.
Work with application and product teams to ensure camera, display, and audio features meet real‑world product requirements.
Debug cross‑subsystem issues involving camera preview, video encode/decode, display output, audio capture/playback, synchronization, and system performance.
Design, develop, and debug Android HAL implementations and vendor services.
Work with AIDL/HIDL interfaces, native dae
