Job summary

AVTECH Global is seeking an Aircraft Certification Engineer — Systems to support airworthiness certification for military commercial derivative aircraft. The role involves acting as a technical authority on certification strategies and ensuring compliance with FAA and military standards.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering, over 15 years of relevant experience, and must possess a thorough knowledge of FAA regulations. This is a remote position with monthly travel to Dayton, OH.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in aircraft certification, especially FAA type certification or STC programs.
• Ability to pass a Tier 1 Investigation for Department of Defense contracts.
• FAA DER authorization in one or more disciplines preferred.
• Prior experience with military commercial derivative aircraft programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME level understanding of aircraft systems like ECS and Fire Protection.
• Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and MIL-HDBK-516C airworthiness requirements.
• Develop, review, and execute certification plans for MCDA programs.
• Mentor junior engineers and enhance internal certification processes.
