Job summary

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH) is seeking an Aircraft Certification Engineer — Avionics/Software Systems to support airworthiness certification of MCDA programs. You will serve as the certification authority, aligning FAA Part 25 requirements with MIL-HDBK-516C standards and coordinating with government and prime contractors to ensure compliant, safe certification.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in a technical field and 15+ years in certification of avionics/software systems, DER/DAR

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in aircraft certification related to avionics/software systems, with direct involvement in FAA type certification or STC programs.
• Prior experience with military commercial derivative aircraft programs preferred.
• Ability to pass a Tier 1 (minimum) Investigation for DoD contracts; security clearance preferred.
• FAA DER authorization in one or more disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME level understanding of Avionics systems and embedded software development for aircraft systems.
• Serve as the technical SME for aircraft certification, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations (14 CFR Part 25, DO-178C, DO-254) and MIL-HDBK-516C.
