Job summary

Factored is hiring a Sales Engineer to join our all-remote, US-based team. You will partner with Account Executives across the full sales motion, leading technical discovery, designing reference architectures, and scoping engagements in data engineering, ML, analytics, and AI engineering.

You will translate client problems into concrete statements of work, defend architectural choices, and build winning proposals that set up delivery for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of total engineering experience with rising technical scope.
• 3+ years as a Senior Engineer in AI/ML, data engineering, or related field.
• Ability to design end-to-end ML/AI systems and defend choices.
• Strong experience with GenAI/LLM architectures and evaluation.
• Fluent English, excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery calls with prospects to surface requirements and success criteria.
• Design and present ML/AI system architectures live with clients (RAG, agents, LLM eval).
• Translate business problems into scoped engagements and create statements of work.
• Act as deal-side technical authority and defend architectural choices.
• Create proposals, reference architectures, and POC plans to win deals.
• Partner with delivery to ensure smooth handoff and transfer of context.
• Develop reusable solution patterns and maintain demos across services.
• Stay current with AI/ML landscape and bring insights to client conversations.
• Provide feedback to product, delivery, and marketing based on prospect input.
• Represent Factored in webinars, content, and customer events.
