Job summary

Factored is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for a fully remote, full-time role. You will design and build foundational systems enabling enterprise-scale generative AI, shaping architectures and improving performance for global Fortune 500 clients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Python foundation with production experience.
• Hands-on with generative AI frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, OpenAI).
• Experience building cloud-native apps on AWS; Azure/GCP a plus.
• Experience designing and developing APIs with FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Strong system design and problem-solving skills for backend/AI workflows.
• Experience with databases (PostgreSQL/NoSQL) and vector DBs for RAG.
• Proficient with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform) and Git workflows.
• Knowledge of DL model development/deployment (PyTorch, HuggingFace) is a plus.
• Excellent English communication; growth mindset and learning aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Architect backend systems integrating with LLMs; ensure scalability and security.
• Implement agentic architectures for complex AI workflows.
• Build and manage cloud-native AI apps on AWS (Lambda, ECS, SageMaker).
• Fine-tune prompts and build RAG pipelines to optimize performance.
• Implement AI security guardrails and conduct risk assessments.
• Monitor health with observability tools and resolve performance issues.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to productionize trained models.
• Maintain high engineering standards: modular code, tests, CI/CD, docs.
• Partner with product teams to deliver AI features that drive value.
