Job summary

VetsEZ is seeking a Software Product Engineer for a 100% remote position on a large federal government project. Lead design and development of cloud-based architectures and AI-enabled healthcare platforms.

The candidate should have 5+ years in software engineering, strong React and Node.js/TypeScript skills, and experience with AI tools and AWS services to build scalable, data-driven services. Collaboration with stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering with AI-enabled systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with React and Node.js/TypeScript, building production-grade services, REST APIs, and integrations.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, or Claude Code.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data and messaging services and microservices.
• Proven TDD practice and automated testing for reliability.
• Experience with CI/CD, containers, and DevOps for scalable AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services in Node.js/TypeScript using cloud-native solutions for AI workloads at scale.
• Decompose workflows into a microservices architecture with clear boundaries and data ownership.
• Drive TDD and maintain strong test coverage across unit, integration, and contract tests.
• Develop AI pipelines processing structured and unstructured data for intelligent decisions.
• Design scalable AI-enabled systems and services for healthcare platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into deployable solutions.
• Take on additional tasks to support team objectives and project success.
