Job summary

VetsEZ is seeking a Senior Applied AI Product Engineer for a fully remote role supporting a large federal healthcare modernization project. You will help build intelligent healthcare products that enhance patient engagement and care coordination, using Claude Code to deliver robust software.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and clinical stakeholders in a fast-paced remote Agile environment. The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 5+ years in software/product engineering.
• Proficiency with Claude Code to build and test software.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript/JavaScript with full‑stack experience.
• Experience integrating LLMs via APIs, prompt engineering, or RAG.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and code review abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement AI-powered features for patient engagement, care coordination, claims management, and operations.
• Use Claude Code to build, test, troubleshoot, and maintain full‑stack products.
• Collaborate with PMs, designers, engineers, and clinicians in a remote Agile environment.
• Develop APIs, backend services, automation pipelines, and LLM integrations.
• Apply DevOps, MLOps practices to testing, deployment, monitoring, security, and performance.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies to improve product functionality and workflows.
• Take on additional tasks to support team objectives and project success.
