As part of EZLabs, the AI innovation division of VetsEZ, this role will build intelligent healthcare products that improve patient engagement, care coordination, and claims management. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience using Claude Code to develop, test, and deliver functional software products.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and clinical stakeholders in a fast‑paced, remote Agile environment.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and clinical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, user-focused solutions.

  • Develop APIs, backend services, automation pipelines, and LLM integrations that support intelligent product capabilities.

  • Apply software engineering, DevOps, and MLOps practices to testing, deployment, monitoring, security, and performance optimization.

  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and implementation approaches to improve product functionality and engineering workflows.

  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 1--4 years of experience in software engineering, product engineering, or full-stack application development.

  • Demonstrated proficiency using Claude Code to develop functional software products, including implementing features, debugging code, and validating results.

  • Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or comparable programming languages, with experience developing frontend components, backend services, and APIs.

  • Hands‑on experience integrating LLMs into applications through APIs, prompt engineering, AI agents, generative AI workflows, or retrieval augmented generation (RAG).

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to review AI‑generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, and test coverage.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and contribute effectively in a remote Agile environment.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, along with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines.

  • Familiarity with Cursor, Codex, OpenAI APIs, Anthropic APIs, vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, or AI orchestration frameworks.

  • Experience developing deployed AI applications or supporting healthcare, payer/provider, federal government, or Department of Veterans Affairs technology initiatives.
