Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Software Engineer – AI Applications & ServiceNow to design, build, deploy, operate and maintain secure, production-grade applications leveraging AI/ML within U.S. Government cloud environments.

The role combines AI-enabled software engineering with ServiceNow development, DevSecOps, and cloud security practices to deliver scalable, auditable solutions in FedRAMP Moderate/High and GCC High contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience developing AI-enabled or generative AI applications for production use.
• Experience with modern programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or comparable languages.
• Experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, web apps, or distributed architectures.
• Experience deploying, operating, and maintaining applications in cloud environments (FedRAMP Moderate/High; GCC High).
• Strong written and verbal communication; U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain production-grade applications with AI capabilities.
• Develop secure AI-enabled applications using LLMs, AI APIs, and RAG.
• Integrate AI services with enterprise apps, databases, APIs, and data sources.
• Build services, APIs, UIs, data pipelines, and integration components for enterprise AI.
• Implement security controls, logging, monitoring, and auditability.
• Evaluate and integrate commercial/open-source AI technologies; ensure observability and reliability.
• Collaborate across DevSecOps and ServiceNow engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
• Produce documentation supporting security assessments, ATO activities, and operational readiness.
