Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Software Engineer for AI Applications & ServiceNow to design, build, deploy, and operate secure, production-grade AI-enabled enterprise solutions in U.S. government cloud environments.

The role spans AI engineering, ServiceNow development, cloud deployment, and DevSecOps to deliver scalable, auditable apps with strong security controls and production support. This is a fully remote, nationwide role requiring U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a public trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5–8 years of experience or commensurate experience.
• Hands-on experience developing AI-enabled or generative AI applications for production use.
• Experience with modern programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or comparable languages.
• Experience deploying, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining applications in cloud environments.
• Understanding of FedRAMP Moderate/High security requirements and working in regulated cloud environments.
• Knowledge of secure software engineering, DevSecOps, CI/CD, source control, automated testing, and vulnerability management.
• Experience engineering or supporting ServiceNow applications, integrations, workflows, or platform capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to document architectures and procedures.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain production-grade applications with AI capabilities.
• Develop secure AI-enabled applications using LLMs, AI APIs, RAG, and agentic workflows.
• Integrate AI services with enterprise applications, data sources, and APIs.
• Create services, APIs, UIs, data pipelines, and integration components for enterprise AI solutions.
• Implement AI application controls including IAM, data protection, logging, and auditability.
• Evaluate and integrate commercial, open-source, and cloud-native AI technologies.
• Establish observability, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement for AI solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across development and production environments.
• Design, configure, develop, integrate, and maintain ServiceNow applications and workflows.
• Develop ServiceNow solutions using Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP, and ACLs.
