Job summary

Capital Insurance Group seeks an Agency Development Manager to manage agency partnerships across CA, driving profitable growth and book expansion. This field role blends relationship-building with strategic planning, pricing coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to support agents and maximize production.

Travel is extensive (75% weekly), with Monday office time and regular agency visits in the territory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred. However, equivalent experience in a related assignment will be considered.
• Continuing insurance education with completion or active participation in certifications such as IIA, AFIS, CPCU or CIC.
• A minimum of seven years of progressively challenging business-related experience in roles like Personal/Commercial Underwriter, Territorial Manager, Agency Producer or similar.
• Ability to identify strategic partners, evaluate growth opportunities, manage relationships, and plan territory for results.
• Ability to apply sound insurance principles remotely with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel extensively; 75% travel with monthly overnight requirements.
• Adherence to a weekly schedule with Monday office time and travel the rest of the week.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Company’s relationship with agency business partners in an assigned geographical territory.
• Identify strategic business partners and plan for profitable growth.
• Direct support for the territory production goals across Agricultural, Commercial Lines and Personal Lines.
• Develop new business and identify opportunities for book growth.
• Provide agency training on systems and services and support agents to maximize production.
• Coordinate with in-company resources to price and quote all lines of business.
• Refer leads to the appropriate department or business function.
