Job summary

Roers Companies seeks an energetic Compliance Specialist to join our remote team. You will process move-in applications, verify income and assets, and ensure files meet compliance before lease signing.

You’ll communicate with applicants, residents and site teams, keeping records in our systems and providing updates to leadership. Ideal candidates have 3–4+ years in affordable housing compliance, excellent communication, and familiarity with Yardi or Rent Café.

Qualifications

• Must have 3-4+ years of affordable housing compliance experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service when interacting with applicants and residents.
• Experience with property management or compliance software preferred (Yardi, Rent Café).
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Process and track move-in applications, ensuring review/approval within 3–5 days.
• Collect, verify and input applicant income, assets and household information.
• Ensure move-in files are complete and ready for compliance review before lease signing.
• Communicate with applicants, residents and site teams to obtain missing docs.
• Maintain accurate records in property management and compliance systems.
• Track application status and provide updates to Compliance Leadership and managers.
• Contribute to timely completion of annual compliance reports as assigned.
• Collaborate with senior compliance to resolve deficiencies quickly.
• Provide guidance to site teams on program requirements.
• Take on additional projects and duties to meet business needs.
