Job summary

YO AI Labs is seeking an Aerodynamics Expert to support an AI training project involving CFD analyses, geometry generation, and Python scripting. This contractor role is remote with flexible hours and ~15 hrs/week.

Responsibilities include solving aerodynamic problems, building CFD workflows, validating results, and reviewing AI-generated engineering solutions for accuracy. A strong background in CFD and Python is required; OpenFOAM, SU2, Gmsh or FEniCSx experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or BS + 1–2 years aerodynamics experience.
• Strong aerodynamics and CFD knowledge with Python experience.
• Experience with CLI/programmatic tools such as OpenFOAM, SU2, Gmsh, FEniCSx, SciPy, or equivalent.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical reasoning and engineering trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Solve and validate aerodynamic and fluid-dynamics problems.
• Develop computational models, geometries, meshes, and solver configurations.
• Run and automate CFD workflows using Python and CLI-based tools.
• Analyze lift, drag, pressure, velocity, and other simulation results.
• Diagnose mesh, convergence, stability, turbulence, and boundary-condition issues.
• Perform validation, sanity checks, and mesh-independence studies.
• Review AI-generated engineering solutions for technical accuracy.
