Job summary

micro1 is seeking Aerodynamics Experts to support an AI training project involving CFD, aerodynamic analysis, and Python scripting. This is a remote, contractor role with about 15 hours per week and flexible scheduling.

You'll develop models, run simulations, validate results, and review AI-generated solutions for technical accuracy. Strong CFD knowledge and Python experience are required; OpenFOAM/SU2 experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • MS/PhD in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or BS + 1–2 years aerodynamics experience.
  • Strong aerodynamics and CFD knowledge with practical Python experience.
  • Experience with CLI/programmatic tools such as OpenFOAM, SU2, Gmsh, FEniCSx, SciPy, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Solve and validate aerodynamic and fluid-dynamics problems.
  • Develop computational models, geometries, meshes, and solver configurations.
  • Run and automate CFD workflows using Python and CLI-based tools.
  • Analyze lift, drag, pressure, velocity, and other simulation results.
  • Diagnose mesh, convergence, stability, turbulence, and boundary-condition issues.
  • Perform validation, sanity checks, and mesh-independence studies.
  • Review AI-generated engineering solutions for technical accuracy.
