Job summary

BayCare seeks an Advanced Inpatient Coding Specialist for a fully remote role. The candidate will analyze multi-day inpatient documentation to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, work with clinical staff for accurate diagnoses, and mentor coding staff.

Requirements include 5 years Acute Care and 3 years Inpatient Coding, with CCS certification and residency in the U.S. Responsibilities include drafting physician queries, supporting MSDRG assignments, and collaborating with Quality and Clinical

Qualifications

• 5 years Acute Care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze inpatient encounters to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes.
• Collaborate with Medical Staff for accurate diagnoses and MSDRG assignments.
• Mentor and train Coder I-III and students.
• Use anatomy/pathophysiology/pharmacology knowledge for coding.
• Coordinate with Clinical Documentation and Quality teams.
