BayCare is seeking an Advanced Inpatient Coding Specialist for a full-time remote role. The analyst will code inpatient encounters using ICD-10-CM/PCS and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate MSDRG assignments.

Requires CCS certification, 5 years acute care and 3 years inpatient coding, and ability to mentor colleagues. Remote role limited to residents of FL, GA, NC, or SC.

Qualifications

• 5 years Acute Care experience
• 3 years Inpatient Coding experience
• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS
• Ability to mentor and train junior coders

Responsibilities

• Analyze inpatient documentation to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes.
• Collaborate with medical staff for accurate diagnoses like malnutrition and sepsis.
• Formulate physician queries and monitor bill hold reports; liaise with Clinical Documentation Specialist Team and QA for MS-DRG/PSI/HAC reviews.
• Utilize anatomy, pathophysiology, and pharmacology knowledge for accurate code assignments.
• Mentor and train Coder I/II/III and students.
