Job summary

BayCare seeks a highly skilled Advanced Inpatient Coding Specialist to remotely code inpatient encounters using ICD-10-CM/PCS. The role supports 7:00 AM–3:30 PM shifts, Monday through Friday, with sign-on bonuses available.

Candidates should have 5 years Acute Care and 3 years Inpatient Coding experience, CCS certification, and a high school diploma; RHIT preferred. Remote position; must reside in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina.

Qualifications

• 5 years Acute Care experience.
• 3 years Inpatient Coding experience.
• CCS certification required.
• RHIT certification preferred.
• Remote work eligibility within the listed states.

Responsibilities

• Analyze multi-day, multi-specialty documentation for inpatient encounters to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes.
• Collaborate with medical staff for accurate diagnoses such as malnutrition or sepsis.
• Formulate physician queries and monitor bill hold reports; liaison with Clinical Documentation Specialist Team.
• Apply anatomy, pathophysiology, and pharmacology knowledge to ensure accurate codes.
• Mentor and train Coder I/II/III and students from partner colleges.
