Job summary

The Athletic is seeking a versatile Sales Planner to partner with Advertising Sales & Strategy, building compelling media offerings and guiding campaigns from RFP through IO. You will liaise with AdOps, Revenue Analytics, Legal, and Research to ensure flawless execution and advertiser satisfaction.

Remote-based in the United States or Canada, this role requires 1–2+ years of media experience, strong communication, and detail-oriented planning.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years media experience.
• Strong ability to communicate end-to-end planning process.
• Collaborative, responsive and accountable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft and Google office applications; Salesforce desirable.
• Attention to detail and organized.
• Excellent knowledge of advertising and digital media.
• Motivated self-starter with quick learning ability.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support thoughtful media programs for advertisers.
• Build and revise media plans, check avails, reserve placements and calendars.
• Manage the RFP process and liaise with AdOps, Revenue Analytics, Legal, and Strategy.
• Enter final plans into online proposal systems and secure approvals.
• Coordinate handoff of digital campaigns to AdOps for end-to-end continuity.
• Respond to servicing requests; gather information for clients and teams.
• Provide excellent client service and communicate account details to Sales.
• Stay up-to-date with The Athletic product suite and training.
