Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED.
• Professional coder certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC (CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CIC, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A) and maintained annually.
• 2+ years of Outpatient Facility Interventional Radiology coding experience.
• 2+ years of ICD-10 experience.
• Ability to use a PC in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Excel and EMR systems.
• Ability to work 40 hours a week 5 days per week including occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

• Identify CPT/ICD-10 code assignment for outpatient Acute Interventional Radiology services.
• Apply coding knowledge to analyze/correct CCI Edits and Medical Necessity Edits.
• Understand APC codes and Medical Necessity guidelines.
• Abstract additional data elements during chart reviews as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge and participate in department meetings.
• Provide documentation feedback to providers and query physicians when appropriate.
