Job summary

Willis Towers Watson is seeking an actuarial intern in the Property & Casualty division. The role is remote with a hybrid office option in the United States, offering exposure to pricing, reserving, capital modeling, and software implementation with credentialed actuaries.

You will learn proprietary software, pursue actuarial credentials, and work with clients and internal teams while adhering to Excellence guidelines, progressing toward exams and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Able to work legally in the United States indefinitely and without Visa sponsorship
  • Pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance or any other major with significant quantitative coursework with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams highly preferred
  • Work or extracurricular experience that demonstrates strong technical and/or client service skills and leadership
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Accepting applications from candidates that graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree between December 2027 through June 2029
  • This position can be hybrid or remote

Responsibilities

  • Assist with pricing and development of personal and/or commercial lines insurance products
  • Leverage predictive modeling techniques to increase segmentation of risks
  • Perform loss reserve analyses, including preparation of actuarial reports, Statements of Actuarial Opinion and Actuarial Opinion Summaries, using a variety of methods and stochastic approaches
  • Learn WTW proprietary software to complete projects
  • Seek and participate in key learning and development opportunities/maintain steady progress towards actuarial credentials
  • Build strong relationships internally and with client representatives
  • Document, review and present your own work
  • Assist in creating detailed project plans
  • Monitor project progress against deadlines and budget
  • Follow the firm’s Excellence guidelines
