Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group in Worcester, MA is seeking an Associate Actuary to join the Economic Capital Modeling team at our Corporate Headquarters or work remotely. The ECM role supports development, maintenance, and application of the model and related tools to evaluate enterprise risk and capital requirements.

You will partner with Finance, ERM, Investments, and Pricing to communicate results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field
• Five+ years actuarial, capital modeling, enterprise risk management, pricing, reserving, or related analytical experience
• ACAS or equivalent experience preferred
• Strong understanding of actuarial modeling techniques and capital management principles
• Experience interpreting complex results and translating into business recommendations
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and data analytics tools
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across functions

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance, governance, and enhancement of the Economic Capital Model (ECM)
• Analyze model assumptions, methodologies, and outputs and provide recommendations
• Perform enterprise risk quantification, stochastic modeling, and capital adequacy analyses
• Conduct stress testing and scenario analyses
• Analyze drivers of economic capital consumption, profitability, and risk-adjusted performance
• Support development and maintenance of capital allocation and performance measurement frameworks
• Determine impact of reinsurance structures and capital management initiatives
• Communicate results to Finance, ERM, Investments, and leadership
