Job summary

Lightspeed is seeking a Training Specialist – Accounting to remotely train dealership clients on accounting workflows within the Lightspeed DMS. You will bridge software training with real accounting knowledge to help dealers close books accurately and understand financial statements.

The six-week go-live training cycle covers balances, COA mapping, tax settings, and monthly close, with ongoing remote support and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting or controller-support experience, preferably in a dealership environment.
• Hands-on experience with a dealership DMS—Lightspeed Evolution preferred— including AP, AR, bank reconciliation and month-end close.
• Ability to explain accounting concepts clearly to non-accountants and manage multiple dealer engagements.

Responsibilities

• Lead a pre-call with dealership accounting staff to outline the AST role and go-live expectations.
• Deliver structured 1:1 accounting training across a 6-week cycle (~12 hours per dealer).
• Guide go-live week: reconciliations, chart-of-accounts mapping, tax settings and data recreation.
• Cover AP/AR workflows and funding topics, vendor setup, and reporting.
• Reinforce audits, tax reporting, bank reconciliation, and month-end close in weekly sessions.
• Serve as the go-to resource for real-time accounting questions and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with go-live trainer for a consistent dealer experience.
• Maintain detailed dealer notes across training weeks and handoffs.
