We seek an experienced accounting leader who can manage budgeting, reporting, and compliance while guiding cross-functional teams through complex financial and software integration initiatives. The role emphasizes process improvement, stakeholder communication, and keeping pace with evolving accounting standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of financial measurement tools and accounting principles.
• Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with state government regulations.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Work authorization that doesn’t require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• May be subject to a government background check or security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert knowledge in accounting practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and technology solutions, including system conversions and integrations.
• Guide stakeholders through public policy implementation and business processes.
• Explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
• Develop and review program documentation, training content, and manuals.
• Collaborate with legal, public policy, business, and operations teams to ensure accuracy of accounting processes and systems.
• Identify areas for process improvement and propose changes to enhance efficiency.
• Research accounting standards and regulations updates.
• Review and approve content for accuracy and completeness.
• Lead and manage integration of accounting software solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software implementation and integration.
• Coordinate with IT on audit logging, system integrations and monitoring.
• Provide training and support on new software applications and tools.
• Define project direction, scope, and priority from high-level initiatives to features and metrics.
• Socialize and build buy-in for product initiatives with team, government partners, and contractors.
• Prioritize roadmaps with project management and inbound work.
• Represent Nava’s outcome-centric approach in discovery meetings with agencies and contractors.
• Translate data insights into actions to measure progress toward goals.
