Treantly, LLC seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to support a Canadian accounting firm serving owner-managed and not-for-profit clients. You will manage client portfolios, oversee engagements, and guide junior staff with a strong emphasis on Canadian standards and tax reporting.

The role emphasizes controller-level responsibilities, mentorship, and cross-functional work across audit, review, and consulting engagements, with remote work and Canadian business hours.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA designation required.
• Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, taxation, and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing and reviewing Canadian corporate and personal tax returns.
• Hands-on experience with compilation engagements and financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of accounting and tax services.
• Perform controller-level responsibilities for multiple clients, including financial reporting and oversight.
• Review bookkeeping records, compilation engagements, and tax returns prepared by team members.
• Prepare compilation engagements, financial statements, and Canadian corporate tax returns.
• Assist with review, audit, and consulting engagements as needed.
• Prepare and review GST returns, T4 and T5 information returns, and personal tax returns.
• Oversee payroll processing and review payroll records for accuracy and compliance.
• Mentor, train, and support junior staff to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and maintain documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement efficient workflows.
