Specialized Accounting & Tax is seeking a Tax Manager for a full-time remote position in the United States. You will oversee client communication, manage workflows, and perform hands-on tax preparation while guiding a growing team.

This role emphasizes quality control, training, and adherence to firm procedures. You will coordinate tax maps, twice-yearly projections, and planning deliverables, with opportunities to expand into technical review and leadership as the department grows.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing individual and business tax returns; Form 1040, Schedules C and E, Form 1065, Form 1120-S, Form 1120.
• Experience managing a team, coordinating workloads, delegating assignments, and ensuring completion.
• Strong knowledge of tax workpapers, depreciation, reconciliations, and tax strategies.
• Ability to supervise, review, and provide constructive feedback to staff.
• Excellent communication, organization, and deadline-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the tax workflow and client experience for a growing portfolio of individual and business clients.
• Oversee client communication and follow-up, explain engagement status, and coordinate resolutions.
• Delegate work, balance workloads, monitor deadlines, and guide team members.
• Prepare federal and state tax returns and supporting workpapers; review team work and ensure quality.
• Maintain orderly client files and workflow records from intake to delivery.
• Prepare client tax maps and projections using established procedures and training.
