Job summary

David Thomas CPA is seeking an Accounting Assistant for a fully remote role. You will support day-to-day bookkeeping, process invoices, and assist with AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end procedures.

The role requires 1–3 years of accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel. Prior QuickBooks familiarity is preferred; degree in Accounting is a plus. This is a full-time remote position with room for growth.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily bookkeeping and accounting activities.
• Process invoices, payments, expenses, and other financial transactions.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Enter and maintain accurate financial information in accounting systems.
• Assist with month-end and year-end procedures.
• Prepare spreadsheets, schedules, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Review transactions and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Organize and maintain electronic accounting records and files.
• Assist with client accounting requests and routine correspondence.
• Support CPAs and accounting staff with financial and administrative tasks.
