Job summary

Alpaca is seeking an Operations professional to own critical ACATS and non-ACATS transfer workflows within a distributed, remote team. You will ensure accurate, timely transfers across a B2B partner ecosystem as Alpaca expands its self-clearing capabilities.

The role emphasizes deep ACATS operations experience, collaboration with counterpart firms, and regulatory awareness to support ongoing growth and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on ACATS operations experience processing incoming/outgoing transfers.
• Hands-on ACATS lifecycle knowledge: statuses, exceptions, timelines.
• Working knowledge of FINRA Rule 11870 and NSCC/DTCC requirements.
• Experience identifying rejects and discrepancies and resolving exceptions.
• Knowledge of US broker-dealer back-office ops: DTC, FOP, Fund/SERV.
• Experience communicating with contra firms, custodians, or transfer agents.
• Strong attention to detail; able to work under daily processing cutoffs.
• Ability to document procedures and contribute to controls/improvements.
• SIE and Series 99 (or plan to pass within 180 days).

Responsibilities

• Process daily ACATS transfers within industry timelines and validate data.
• Process DTC/FOP transfers and nonstandard transfer types.
• Determine rejection/exception paths; document root causes.
• Collaborate with contra firms, transfer agents, and brokers to resolve issues.
• Run mass transfers and conversions; coordinate with internal/external teams.
• Partner with engineering to automate daily self-clearing workflows.
• Drive root-cause analysis and updates to the control framework.
• Serve as subject matter expert on transfers; assist policy queries.
• Prepare documentation for special projects and cross-functional initiatives.
