Job summary

Alpaca seeks an ACATS Operations professional to own critical ACATS and non-ACATS transfer workflows across our B2B partner ecosystem, helping build and operate processes as we move toward self-clearing.

The role requires hands-on ACATS experience, knowledge of the ACATS lifecycle, and regulatory familiarity. You will collaborate with contra firms and engineering to automate workflows and ensure timely transfers for a distributed, remote team.

Qualifications

Hands-on ACATS operations experience directly processing transfers.
Strong knowledge of ACATS lifecycle, statuses, exceptions, and timelines.
Familiarity with FINRA rules and NSCC/DTCC requirements.
Experience resolving transfer rejects and documentation discrepancies.
Back-office experience in U.S. broker-dealer operations (DTC, Fund/SERV).
Ability to document procedures and drive process improvements.
SIE and Series 99 or higher securities license or plan to obtain.

Responsibilities

Process daily incoming and outgoing ACATS within industry timelines.
Handle DTC/FOP transfers, ACATS Free Deliveries, and nonstandard types.
Document root causes and corrective actions for rejections.
Coordinate with contra firms, transfer agents, and partner brokers to resolve issues.
Run mass transfers and conversions, internal and external.
Partner with engineering to automate daily self-clearing workflows.
Contribute to the control framework and continuous improvement.
Serve as SME on transfers and respond to policy-related queries.
Prepare summary documentation for special projects.
