Job summary

The American Marketing Association is offering a fully remote Academic Communities Intern position. You will support the academic communities by delivering community-driven events, assisting volunteer leaders, and fostering a welcoming environment for scholars.

The role requires living in one of the eligible states including New Jersey, has an $18 per hour pay, up to 24 hours per week, and runs January 19, 2027 through April 9, 2027.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Enrolled at a 2-year or 4-year college/university.
• Customer service or volunteer management experience.
• Interest in event management, volunteer management, or association management.
• Experience using Google Suite.
• Keen eye for detail.
• Able to work remotely 24 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage Special Interest Group (SIG) webpages.
• Assist with SIG budget and financial management, including payments, reimbursements, and invoices.
• Support the Manager, Academic Communities, with planning and logistics for the 2027 Winter Academic, Virtual Winter Academic, Summer Academic, and Marketing and Public Policy conferences.
• Respond to attendee inquiries alongside the Manager, Academic Communities, and Customer Support team.
• Help execute Conference and SIG awards processes.
• Assist the Senior Copy Editor with conference proceedings administration.
