Job summary

The American Marketing Association is seeking an Academic Communities Intern to support member engagement and events. This fully remote role requires you to live in the United States and work up to 24 hours per week, with pay at $18.00 per hour.

You will assist with SIG activities, budgets, conference planning, and attendee support while collaborating with the Academic Communities team to foster community and camaraderie among scholars and marketers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Currently enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year college/university.
• Customer service or volunteer management experience.
• Interest in event/association management.
• Experience with Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets).
• Keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work remotely for 24 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage Special Interest Group (SIG) webpages.
• Assist with SIG budget, payments, reimbursements, and invoices.
• Support planning/logistics for 2027 conferences (Winter/Summer).
• Respond to attendee inquiries with the team.
• Help execute Conference and SIG awards processes.
• Assist the Senior Copy Editor with conference proceedings.
