Job summary

Guidant Financial is a fully remote company seeking a Retirement Plan Operations Specialist to learn end-to-end 401(k) administration. You will review client documents, assist with year-end reporting, and support government filings such as IRS Form 5500.

With 1–5 years in back-office financial operations and proficiency in Excel/Word/Outlook, you will grow from document review to basic plan administration in a team that values ownership and ESOP-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Experience with document review and transaction processing in daily responsibilities.
• 1–5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience in benefits administration, wires, tax prep, or compliance.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook is required.
• Direct retirement-plan operations experience (401(k)/IRA) preferred.
• Experience with reconciliation is preferred.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in business/finance or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review client documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Work with clients to prepare annual reporting and IRS Form 5500 filings.
• Reconcile plans using Excel and administration software.
• Utilize retirement-plan software to perform testing and reporting.
• Make outreach calls and emails to clients during plan year reporting.
• Educate clients on 401(k) plan administration and documents.
