Job summary

Tri-Point, a SITECH Northeast affiliate, is seeking a 3D Civil Modeler/Designer to create accurate surface models for GPS machine control and construction layout. The role is primarily remote with occasional site visits; you will work with Trimble, Carlson, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads, or Terramodel to translate CAD data into deployable models, meeting 1–2 week deadlines.

Strong reading of construction plans and good communication are essential; experience with heavy civil projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Construction or Civil Engineering, or equivalent heavy civil work/surveyor experience.
• 3–5 years' experience building 3D surfaces with listed software.
• Experience with machine control and construction layout equipment is a strong plus.
• Ability to read construction plans and communicate effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; able to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D surface models for GPS machine control and construction layout.
• Review client CAD files/plans for data completeness and communicate omissions.
• Develop layout maps and 3D models to meet client requirements.
• Handle fast-paced projects with 1–2 week turnarounds and concurrent assignments.
