Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, management, and execution of ground-up commercial projects. This role may involve one or more projects at a time and requires relocation to the project site.

You will coordinate with project teams, prepare estimates, manage subcontractors, monitor schedules and costs, and nurture client relationships to meet profitability and quality goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in ground‑up commercial projects preferred.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills; strong problem solving.
• Reads blueprints; understands codes and safety practices.
• Proficient with project management tools and software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, management, and execution of construction projects.
• Prepare estimates, project budgets, and cost reports.
• Organize pre-construction planning meetings and coordinate subcontracts.
• Develop project schedules, milestones, and progress updates.
• Maintain owner relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
• Support project cost control and monthly reviews.
• Mentor project and field engineers and coordinate documentation.
