Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, management, and execution of multiple commercial construction projects. The role may involve handling more than one project at a time, ensuring quality, owner satisfaction, and profitability while promoting Layton standards.

Responsibilities include preparing schedules, coordinating with the project team, and assisting with cost control, change orders, and closeout procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in ground-up commercial construction projects.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of construction laws, codes, and reading blueprints.
• Ethics and organizational policy adherence.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of assigned construction projects.
• Manage project budgets, unit costs, and pay applications.
• Coordinate pre-construction planning and subcontract negotiations.
• Develop project schedules and monitor milestones.
• Ensure safety, quality, and risk management plans.
• Maintain owner relationships and communicate project status.
• Mentor junior engineers and review submittals and RFI responses.
