Layton Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, management, and execution of assigned construction projects on-site. You will assist in preparing estimates, budgets, and subcontract negotiations while maintaining strong owner relationships and ensuring profitability.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in construction management and at least 3 years of ground-up commercial construction experience, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in ground-up commercial construction projects.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and negotiation skills; reads blueprints correctly.

Responsibilities

• The Assistant Project Manager assists in planning, management, and execution of work for assigned construction projects.
• May be assigned one or more projects at a time; ensures quality, owner satisfaction, and profitability.
• Assists in preparing estimates, project budgets, and unit cost reports.
• Organizes pre-construction planning meetings and participates in subcontract negotiations.
• Develops project management plans and assists in planning execution of the construction contract.
• Maintains owner relationships and supports project profitability.
