Electrical Power Systems (EPS) is a NETA-accredited independent electrical testing and engineering organization serving data centers, utilities, renewables, and industrial facilities across North America. The Relay Technician II role focuses on testing, commissioning, and maintaining protection and control systems with growing independence, under safety and quality standards.

The position emphasizes hands-on relay testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration with senior technicians

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Criminal background check required.
• Willing to overtime and travel out of town.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in transmission, generation or distribution level substations.
• Capable of troubleshooting distribution and transmission controls circuits.
• Knowledge of relay test software.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and participate in job briefings and hazard mitigation efforts.
• Perform relay testing with assistance from Senior Relay Technicians and Engineers.
• Execute element, logic, and basic functional testing of protective relays and control systems.
• Read and interpret one-line/three-line diagrams and complex protection logic.
• Develop testing and isolation plans to ensure safe execution of work.
• Create detailed test reports, commissioning records, and calibration documentation.
