Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) seeks a Relay Technician II to perform testing, commissioning, and maintenance of protection and control systems. You will work with Senior Relay Technicians and Engineers to advance relay techniques and ensure safe, reliable operations.

Responsibilities include end-to-end testing, reporting, and client communication, with opportunities to grow in relay protection schemes, system analysis, and advanced testing practices across North America.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screen required for safety sensitive role.
• Background check required for employment.
• Willingness to overtime and travel out of town as needed.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record required.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in larger substations.
• Ability to troubleshoot distribution and transmission controls circuits.
• Knowledge of relay test software.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and participate in briefings and hazard mitigation.
• Apply Human Performance Error Reduction concepts in daily work.
• Promote safe work behaviors and support safety initiatives.
• Perform relay testing with senior technicians and engineers.
• Execute element, logic and basic functional testing of relays and control systems.
• Read, interpret and analyze in-service readings to verify performance.
• Develop testing plans and isolation plans for safe execution.
• Create detailed reports with test results and commissioning records.
• Communicate clearly with team members, clients and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate work with engineers and technicians to align project goals.
