Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking an Assembly Operator to work at a premier manufacturing client in Hauppauge, NY. The role offers a steady first shift from 7am to 3:30pm and pay of $20.00 per hour, with full training provided on SOPs and operation descriptions.

You'll set up relay equipment, magnetize relays, adjust contact forces, perform inspections, record quality measurements, and report to a leadperson or supervisor.

Qualifications

• Higher education or equivalent experience (required).
• Strong visual acuity and good manual dexterity.
• Basic English communication skills (speaking, reading, writing).
• 1-2 years of experience in electromechanical assembly (preferred).
• Inspection skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Setting up Relay Adjust Machines for various relays and performing visual inspections.
• Magnetizing relays and adjusting contact forces, pick up, hold, and drop out voltage on relays.
• Performing contact gap and bounce time adjustments using specialized tools.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area, following safety guidelines and SOPs.
• Completing quality measurements, recordkeeping (including SPC).
• Reporting to a Leadperson or Supervisor.

What’s a typical day as Assembly Operator? You’ll be:

• Setting up Relay Adjust Machines for various relays and performing visual inspections.
• Magnetizing relays and adjusting contact forces, pick up, hold, and drop out voltage on relays.
• Performing contact gap and bounce time adjustments using specialized tools such as tweezers, microscopes, and gram gages.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area, following all safety guidelines and SOPs.
• Completing quality measurements, recordkeeping (including SPC), and other assembly operations as necessary.
• Reporting to a Leadperson or Supervisor.
