Job summary

Kelly is hiring an Assembly Operator in Wyandotte, MI. The role focuses on visual inspections, basic assembly, data entry into the plant systems, and maintaining safety and quality standards throughout the shift.

The position offers day and night shifts with weekend work: Days 6am–6pm at $20.00/hour and Nights 6pm–6am at $21.00/hour, with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan with company matching.

  • Comfortable lifting up to 30lbs throughout shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspection of finished parts for defects and perform minor finishing and basic assembly operations.
  • Record data accurately into plant’s electronic database systems.
  • Solve equipment problems individually or with others to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Use rulers, clippers and similar small tools as needed for inspection/tasks.
  • Follow SOPs and wear PPE as required; maintain safety and quality checks on equipment.

Pay Rate:

  • $20.00 for Days – 6am-6pm, Saturday and Sunday ONLY
  • $21.00 for Nights – 6pm-6am, Saturday and Sunday ONLY

What’s a typical day as a Assembly Operator? You’ll:

  • Perform visual inspection of finished parts for defects. Perform minor finishing and basic assembly operations.
  • Required to perform all duties in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Accurately record data into plant’s electronic database systems.
  • Problem solves alone, and with others, to resolve equipment problems.
  • May use rulers, clippers and other similar small tools to complete assigned inspection/task.
  • Read standard operating instructions to familiarize self with operating and safety procedures.
  • Able to wear and utilize all personal protective equipment (PPE) specified by the organization.
  • Perform safety and quality check of assigned equipment on a routine basis and actively participates and supports the safety program.
  • Support efficient movement of materials from inspection/assembly lines to staging area for transfer to warehouse.
  • Complete equipment changeover operations to ensure safety, quality and productivity are maintained.
  • Maintains housekeeping standards
  • Must possess acute visual acuity, attention to detail and organizational acumen.
  • May train other personnel on unit operations within the department.
