First Bank Richmond is seeking a Universal Banker to deliver comprehensive banking services to both consumer and commercial clients. This frontline role blends teller transactions with relationship-based sales and service, ensuring a seamless experience across channels.

You will engage customers in financial conversations, identify needs, open accounts, cross-sell products, and support digital banking tools while complying with policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional service to both consumer and commercial clients in person and via phone.
• Build and deepen customer relationships by understanding financial needs and goals.
• Conduct needs-based conversations and provide tailored banking solutions.
• Resolve customer issues promptly and elevate complex concerns as appropriate.
• Recommend and open new consumer and business accounts (checking, savings, lending, treasury services).
• Cross-sell bank products and services aligned with customer needs.
• Support onboarding of new customers, including follow-up and relationship expansion.
• Identify referral opportunities for specialized services (commercial lending, wealth, mortgage, etc.).
• Process deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other teller transactions accurately.
• Balance cash drawer and maintain accurate transaction records.
• Support both routine and complex transactions for consumer and business clients.
• Maintain and service account relationships, including updates, closures, and documentation.
• Assist customers with digital banking tools and services.
• Answer questions related to accounts, fees, fraud prevention, and banking products.
• Adhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure proper identification, documentation, and fraud prevention practices.
• Protect customer information and always maintain confidentiality.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve financial center goals.
• Support branch operations including opening/closing duties and dual control procedures (e.g., night drop).
• Contribute to a positive, customer-focused team environment.
