Job description

You will lead and perform complex analyses for the full range of actuarial activities related to Reinsurance pricing for a line of business (LOB). Build models and projections to enable the business to generate consistent and sound prices. Develop forecasts and models for reinsurance. Serve as a subject matter expert and consultant to business partners throughout the organization. Present findings and recommendations regarding development or effectiveness.

You will report to the Director, Actuary - Reinsurance.

Position Compensation Range:

$111,000.00 - $190,000.00

Salary

Compensation may vary based on the job level and geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities

  1. Develop relationships with core business partners and provide insights and solutions to address specific business concerns.
  2. Explore new concepts, statistical models, and data sources to deliver innovative solutions for the business.
  3. Contribute to all aspects of pricing and may own the recurring process.
  4. Facilitate the pricing strategy.
  5. Help develop pricing for new products and rating structures.
  6. Monitor industry and competitor trends to determine potential impact on actuarial strategies and solutions.
  7. Analyze the profitability of assumed casualty treaty reinsurance opportunities.
  8. Maintain a portfolio analytics framework, ensuring consistent analytical standards for evaluating reinsurance opportunities.
  9. Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Mentor and develop team members.
  10. Collaborate with Underwriting to provide input on potential deals.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Education Requirements

  1. Experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  2. Experience analyzing assumed reinsurance treaties.
  3. Experience pricing assumed casualty reinsurance treaty submissions.
  4. Knowledge of complex insurance and reinsurance structures.
  5. Understanding of property and casualty products, pricing, rates, and industry trends.
  6. Knowledge of the global reinsurance industry, market, regulatory constraints, judicial climate, and consumer activism.
  7. Experience with Excel, SQL, Python, and basic programming.
  8. Knowledge of catastrophe models such as RMS and AIR.
  9. Knowledge of advanced financial and statistical analysis techniques, including actuarial methods.
  10. Understanding of data models and database design and development.
  11. Associate or Fellow in Casualty Actuary Society (ACAS or FCAS).

Travel Requirements: Up to 10%

Physical Requirements: Work primarily involves sitting/standing.
