Job description

You will lead and perform complex analyses for the full range of actuarial activities related to Reinsurance pricing for a line of business (LOB). Build models and projections to enable the business to generate consistent and sound prices. Develop forecasts and models for reinsurance. Serve as a subject matter expert and consultant to business partners throughout the organization. Present findings and recommendations regarding development or effectiveness.
You will report to the Director, Actuary - Reinsurance.

Position Compensation Range:

$111,000.00 - $190,000.00

Salary

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Develop relationships with core business partners and provide insights and solutions to address specific business concerns.
  • Explore new concepts, statistical models, and data sources to deliver innovative solutions for the business.
  • Contribute to all aspects of pricing and own the recurring process.
  • Facilitate the pricing strategy.
  • Help develop pricing for new products and rating structures.
  • Monitor industry and competitor trends to determine potential impact on actuarial strategies and solutions.
  • Analyze the profitability of assumed casualty treaty reinsurance opportunities.
  • Maintain a portfolio analytics framework, ensuring consistent analytical standards for evaluating reinsurance opportunities.
  • Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Mentor and develop team members.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting to provide input on potential deals.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Education Requirements

  • Experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • Experience analyzing assumed reinsurance treaties.
  • Experience pricing assumed casualty reinsurance treaty submissions.
  • Knowledge of complex insurance and reinsurance structures.
  • Understanding of property and casualty products, pricing, rates, and industry trends.
  • Knowledge of the global reinsurance industry, market, regulatory constraints, judicial climate, and consumer activism.
  • Experience with Excel, SQL, Python, and basic programming.
  • Knowledge of catastrophe models such as RMS and AIR.
  • Knowledge of advanced financial and statistical analysis techniques including actuarial methods.
  • Understanding of data models and database design and development.
  • Associate or Fellow in Casualty Actuary Society (ACAS or FCAS).

  • Up to 10%
