Hylant is seeking a Captive Reinsurance Accountant to support the evaluation and management of reinsurance contracts, claims, and reinsurer relationships. The role ensures compliance with policies, efficient claim settlements, and clear communication with reinsurers.

The position contributes to generating insightful reinsurance reports and analyses to inform decision-making, with travels for meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required or preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in reinsurance accounting, insurance or similar financial area.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• Skilled at building and maintaining internal and external (carrier) relationships.
• Strong attention to detail and metrics-driven mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Willingness to travel by car or airplane for meetings and conferences.

Responsabilités

• Prepare technical, financial accounting of premium, claim and reserves.
• Review and analyze reinsurance contracts for policy adherence.
• Manage processing and settlement of reinsurance claims.
• Generate reinsurance reports and perform analytical support for decision-making.
• Advise internal stakeholders on Statutory and Reinsurance Accounting topics.
• Develop and maintain relationships with reinsurers.
• Drive process improvement and standardization; identify inefficiencies.
• Participate in training to stay current with systems and processes.
• Update SOPs and training materials in collaboration with Captive Account Executives.
