Safety National in Saint Louis, MO seeks an Accountant I, Reinsurance, to ensure accuracy in reinsurance accounting and financial reporting. You will post cash transactions, reconcile ledgers, and assist with month-end close in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Coursework or professional accounting experience required.
• Excellent organizational skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week in the Saint Louis office.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting functions in reinsurance systems and post cash transactions.
• Prepare premium and claims adjustments and process reinsurance payments and wires.
• Reconcile general ledger, escrow, and bank accounts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; assist with month-end close.
• Compile supporting documentation for audits and collaborate with internal/external partners.
• Participate in special projects and support evolving business needs.
