Job summary

Safety National is seeking an experienced Manager, Reinsurance in St. Louis to lead a team responsible for accurate financial accounting of assumed, ceded, retroactive, and fronted reinsurance programs.

You will collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure timely settlements, reconciliations, and reporting, while coaching staff for professional growth. The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience, strong analytical and Excel skills, and the ability to work in a hybrid

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and financial review skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and investigate complex financial information.
• Strong reconciliation and documentation skills with a commitment to accuracy and completeness.
• Ability to understand, interpret, and analyze multiple types of bank statements.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accountability.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week in the St. Louis Corporate Office at 1832 Schuetz Rd., Saint Louis, MO.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial accounting activities for assigned reinsurance programs (assumed, ceded, retroactive, fronted).
• Serve as primary contact for a designated area of reinsurance, ensuring transactions and reporting are accurate and timely.
• Coach and develop team members and foster a collaborative, improvement‑focused environment.
• Review financial data related to commissions, income, and loss activity; prepare/approve journal entries, reconciliations, fundings, and check requests.
• Oversee monthly and quarterly reinsurance settlement statements and contribute to quarterly/annual reporting.
